My first novel is inspired by The Bridge Group. We held our first Bridge Reunion in Columbia, MD in 1978, and we continued holding annual reunions until 2009, when Gwen Sorell (kneeling second from left) passed away.
The Bridge Group
These three women -- Prebble Eklof, Jane Weidenbacker, and Gwen Sorell -- were my Bridge Group buddies for over thirty years. Hearts and Hounds is a work of fiction, but some of the characters and plot are loosely based on the four of us, who met when we worked at Esso Eastern in Houston in the mid-1970s.
